Add at least two files and arrange them before merging. The order you set is the order the pages appear in, so a report and its appendices end up the right way round.

Documents from different sources rarely share a paper size. Set the output page size and orientation once and the merged file is consistent throughout.

Give the merged document a file name before you download it, rather than renaming it afterwards in your downloads folder.

Merge PDF files in the right order

Merging is rarely just concatenation - the order matters. Add the files you want to combine, arrange them, and the merged PDF follows that sequence exactly. A contract and its annexes, a set of scanned pages, a report assembled from several exports: all of them depend on getting the order right before the merge rather than fixing it afterwards.

Files that came from different places usually disagree about paper size and orientation, and a merged document that alternates between them is awkward to read and worse to print. The output settings let you set a single page size and orientation for the whole result.
